The University Health System is looking for a full time Counselor (30 hrs/wk) in the Nevada Tobacco Users Helpline. Main responsibility is to provide substance abuse treatment and/or problem gambling treatment for the University of Nevada School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry, Nevada Tobacco Users Helpline and Brief Inteventions for Problem Gambling Line. The Counselor provides counseling responsibilities which include screening, intake, assessment, education, evidenced based interventions, treatment plans, and case management, follow up sessions and discharge as specified by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Counselors.

Succesful candidate must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with emphasis or major in counseling, psychology, human services, or a social science field as specified by the State of Nevada Boardof Examiners for Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Counselors. Minimally must fulfill requirements to be a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Intern (CADC-Intern). CADC or LADC is preferred.

Fluent in Spanish language is preferred, but not required.
