Carbonite is looking for a strategic and results-driven Business Development Manager to help grow our distribution and channel partnerships. This role will report to the Director of Business Development and will be a key player in prospecting, negotiating and closing key strategic partnerships. To be successful in this highly visible role you must be an ambitious self-starter who can create a large pipeline of industry leading prospects quickly and efficiently.

The Business Development team at Carbonite is responsible for identifying and negotiating partnerships that generate new revenue and increase the distribution of Carbonite’s products and services.

Responsibilities:
Identify and qualify prospects, develop new business opportunities through research, networking, and prospecting
Negotiate and execute partnership agreements
Actively participate in industry related events, conferences, and site visits
Have in-depth understanding of Carbonite’s products, services and features
Create sales pitch decks, deliver presentations and analyze results
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure partnerships are aligned with product/marketing
Oversee and project-manage partner integration from start to end

Qualifications:
This individual will have the market knowledge to identify potential partners and prioritize those that will help us achieve our business goals. S/he will be confident in presenting to external clients at senior level, outlining benefits, consultative selling techniques and negotiating contracts. This individual takes initiative, has excellent judgment, thinks through relational options, is creative in developing client solutions and is results-oriented.
3+ years of business development experience in high-growth. SaaS Internet/technology company preferred
Strong negotiation and relationship building skills, with a proven track record in partner acquisition and revenue targets
Data-driven, analytical, and fact-based approach to making business recommendations and
decisions
Bachelor’s Degree required
Excellent communication, computer and presentation skills
Ability to work effectively across functions (Marketing, Sales, Product, Engineering, Customer Support, Finance) and organization levels (executives, peers, individual contributors)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail a must
