What We Offer
Planned Parenthood of Illinois works with student groups across the state to support reproductive justice and health care for students on college campuses. Through Advocates for Choice groups, PPIL aims to provide education and access to reproductive health care information, while mobilizing student activists.
The Campus Organizer Intern will work to establish an Advocates for Choice group on their campus. The intern will be responsible for establishing an official group on their campus, recruiting leadership and group members, building coalitions with other student organizations, and planning and executing on-campus events.
Planned Parenthood of Illinois will provide an internship supervisor and staff advisor who will work with you to gather materials, develop an organizing plan and provide education information and speakers. We will provide a number of training sessions throughout the summer to prepare you for organizing work in the fall and will connect you with other campus organizers throughout the state.

Interest in the field of community organizing / activism
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to take initiative and work well both independently and in a team
Commitment of 10 hours a week through May 2013

Hours
Hours are flexible and depend on campus events and meeting schedules. Attendance at a summer training session and regular conference calls are required.
