Education: Four year college degree or equivalent education/experience preferred.
Experience: A minimum of one year sales experience in a related position with this company or another organization(s). Hotel sales experience preferred.

BASIC PURPOSE : Plan, solicit, book and coordinate small group meetings and room sales to meet/exceed revenue & profit goals.
ORGANIZATIONAL SCOPE : Position is responsible for negotiating room rates, catering prices and other sales terms for groups within a defined size parameter.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Solicit, negotiate and confirm new and repeat business through various efforts (lead follow up, telemarketing, direct mail, referrals, internet prospecting, etc) to maximize revenues to meet/exceed goals. Efforts are to be in compliance with established IHR sales process standards and local guidelines (50') Plan, up-sell and coordinate function details with clients to include but not limited to space requirements, meeting times, equipment, menus, billing, etc. Prepare and execute sales/catering contracts, event orders, group resumes to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfactions. (20') Create and distribute effective internal and external communication (written and verbal) (10') Develop and implement creative sales strategy by analyzing historical, current and future hotel/market/account trends. (5') Develop and continually enhance relationships with key corporate, business and travel industry accounts.
