Develops daily activities and structured play for the assigned children within the day's scheduled activities established by the Day Care Manager. Observes all activities of assigned children to assure a safe, learning environment. Cares for children aged six weeks to ten years.
Develops child care activities (e.g., teaches songs) to promote the physical, mental, social, and emotional development of assigned children.
Develops play activities within established procedures and schedules to provide learning experiences for the assigned children.
Inspects classroom to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards and to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for the children.
Charts on each assigned child (e.g., amount of food eaten) to assure accurate records that are daily given to parents and Manager for review.
Serves foods sent from the Dietary department for meals or snacks, and feeds assigned children as required by their eating skills.
Changes diapers or assists in toilet training as appropriate.
Knowledge of reading and writing normally acquired in high school in order to comprehend daily schedules, menus and so forth and to be able to chart properly.
Prior child care experience preferred.
