The mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information & Technology (OIT), Enterprise Systems Engineering (EIE), Systems Design and Core Systems Engineering Services (SDCS), Health Solutions (HS) is to provide benefits and services to Veterans of the United States. In meeting these goals, OIT strives to provide high quality, effective, and efficient Information Technology (IT) services to those responsible for providing care to the Veterans at the point-of-care as well as throughout all the points of the Veterans’ health care in an effective, timely and compassionate manner. VA depends on Information Management/Information Technology (IM/IT) systems to meet mission goals.
VA requires management and administration of servers supporting the Spinal Cord Injury and Disorders Outcomes (SCIDO) project which includes 51 servers with Oracle WebLogic application servers and Intersystems Cache databases at 21 geographically dispersed locations throughout VA.
Will administer WebLogic, Linux, and Cache on 51 servers located across 21 Regional Spinal Cord Injury Centers that host the Spinal Cord Injury and Disorders (SCIDO) health care module. Generally each Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center server site contains two servers: one to host WebLogic on Linux, the other to host Cache. Servers on which operating systems, software and middleware reside are Hewlett-Packard (HP) Proliant DL380 Generation 4 (G4s) with the exception of one HP DL380 G5. Monitor the performance of the Cache databases. Work with other administrators at the team to optimize performance and manage the team. Required: Years of experience (min) 3-5 Required: Degree Bachelors Required: Basic Qualifications Must have 5+ years of experience.
