For more information, visit www.ppg.com.BASIC FUNCTIONImplementing and maintaining key aspects of the plant Responsible Care Management System (PPG's EHS Management System)Manage Safety and Health processes which include, but are not limited to Life Safety Absolutes, PPE Assessments, Industrial Hygiene Monitoring, etc.Responsible for the facility's rigorous fire and loss prevention plans as outlined by OSHA, NFPA, PPG's EHS Management System, & Insurance Carrier.Responsible for the rigorous facility safety and emergency response inspection programs as outlined by OSHA, Consensus Standards, PPG EHS Management System, & Insurance Carrier.Conduct training to plant personnel in areas of responsibility.Maintain, update, and improve key performance indicators on a monthly basis for presentation to the EHSLT.Reporting to the EHS Manager, the position will be a member of the plant's EHSLT and a key member for the Plant's Behavior Based Safety Process, Ergonomics Improvement Team, Compliance Audit Team, & Wellness Committee.Work with the Maintenance Department to ensure work orders and PMs are completed in a timely fashion or before the past due date for areas of responsibility.Perform annual budgeting planning and maintain cost controls for areas of responsibility.Develop and implement plans for capital expenditures associated with area of responsibility.Be part of on-call Agency Liaison rotation for EOC staff.Be a trained Root Cause Analysis facilitator and conduct RCA's associated with areas of responsibility and as requested by other plant departments.Locations- Ohio and IllinoisEducation and Experience- For effective administration of this position, the incumbent should possess a formal education in Safety and Health, or other applicable formal education areas; Basic Microsoft Office skills, Root Cause Analysis Training, and ability to interface and communicate well with all levels of plant personnel is essential.We require that all applicants submit their resume electronically through our careers website.
