Our Medical Center is a trauma hospital with a 24-hour emergency room and comprehensive medical services. The facility enjoys an enviable reputation for its cardiac services, sleep lab, and women's services, including "home-like" birthing suites. We have earned recognition as a leader in the delivery of healthcare in the Lowcountry.physicians on staff.

We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing for our Extended Care Unit. Must have have current Illinois RN license and a Master's degree in Nursing, Business or Health-related field. Five (5) or more years of progressive clinical and management nursing experience are required. Must have previous skilled nursing/long-term care nursing experience, with management experience in skilled care setting strongly preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills. Knowledge/experience with the regulatory impacts on LTC.

The Director of Nursing will be responsible for the Extended Care Unit (ECU), a two-unit skilled care facility based within a hospital setting.

The DON is a Registered Nurse (RN) that practices within the scope of the Illinois Nurse Practice Act to ensure the delivery of comprehensive, high quality, individualized nursing care, based upon knowledge and experience, the nursing process and leadership skills. Oversees the clinical and patient care delivery and has 24-hour accountability, authority and responsibility of the operations of assigned units. Plans, organizes, coordinates and directs department functions and activities to achieve hospital and unit objectives and comply with regulatory requirements.

Manages Nursing, MDS, Case Management, and Activities staff. Establishes and monitors standards of performance and performance improvement program in cooperation with the Medical Director and performance improvement personnel. Oversees staff to ensure accurate completion of Minimal Data Set (MDS), RAP's and care plans for the patients on the units.
