Directs, plans and supervises a unit of social workers providing intensive casework services in a county, service area or institution, or performs specialist and supervisory duties related to social work programs in a county, service area or in the central office; performs related work as required.

This position is responsible for the supervision, monitoring and evaluation of the Centralized Abuse Intake Unit workers to ensure that accountable and quality services are uniformly provided to clients; to effectively utilize limited resources; and to ensure ongoing enhancement to staffs knowledge and skills. This position reviews and determines whether an abuse intake is accepted or rejected based on Child or Dependent Adult Abuse as defined in Iowa Code. This position supervises the Intake Unit that receives Child Abuse Referrals by telephone or in person to assure that assessments are commenced timely and the assigned assessor has accurate, complete and useful critical information about the subjects and the alleged incident. The supervisor assures that the workers perform Intake duties for Dependent Adult Abuse Referrals by telephone or in person so that assessments/evaluations can be commenced timely and the assigned assessor/evaluator has accurate, complete and useful critical information about the subjects and incident .

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited four year college and experience equal to four years of full-time work in a social work capacity in a public or private agency.
