Description

L-3 Warrior Systems - Insight Technology, a leading designer and manufacturer of laser, night vision and electro-optic devices is seeking a senior level Electrical Engineer to pursue a career in a fast paced company where new designs become production reality. As a member of our new product development staff you will become a recognized contributor with product responsibility for the development of modern military electronic hardware. The ability to work in a cross discipline team of mechanical, optical, software, digital and analog designers is critical to bring projects from concept to production.

Responsibilities

Developing analog / digital circuit boards including power conversion, front end sensor circuits, ADC / DAC, microcontroller and FPGAs

Schematic entry using OrCAD

Design simulation using PSpice

Participate in peer design reviews and program design reviews

Coordinating and releasing design documentation

Working with PWB designers to create low noise, high reliability board designs

Post-design support and troubleshooting using lab equipment

Collaborating with staff and other engineers to meet project milestones

Qualifications

BSEE/MSEE degree or equivalent

10 plus years HW development experience in an aerospace, defense or medical product environment

Proficiency with OrCad, Pspice, Cadence Allegro or equivalent CAD/CAE tools required

A demonstrable background in designing high reliability analog and digital electronics with strong emphasis on precision instrumentation amplifier frontends and mixed signal interfaces

Experience in designing high efficiency power conversion circuits for low power, battery operated systems

Familiarity with good EMI/EMC design practices

Knowledge of PWB layout requirements, packaging tradeoffs, and testing of low-noise, mixed-mode circuitry, preferably for Electro/Optical

Post-design and troubleshooting skills with solid hands-on lab experience using oscilloscopes, logic/spectrum analyzers and other test equipment required

Knowledge of internal measurement systems and MEMS Gyros, accelerometers, magnetometers considered valuable

An understanding of mechanical, optical, software, and digital requirements considered valuable

Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary
