Human Resources Projects – Fall Internship

We're looking for an HR Intern who is a current student or recent graduate from a Master’s program (HR or related field) to join our Human Resources team.

The HR intern will gain experience in several functional areas of the Human Resources field, including recruitment, benefits and wellness, compensation, and recordkeeping and administration. Specifically, the intern will assist with recruitment activities, such as preparing job ads, posting new positions, reviewing and selecting resumes, and other related tasks. The HR Intern will also assist with special projects, such as an internal HR Audit, uploading historical data into our Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and Intranet, and managing HRIS access for employees.

We seek an intern who possesses at least a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or other related field. Previous Human Resource internship experience strongly preferred. A passion for the HR field and interest in science is desired. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required and previous experience with an HRIS strongly preferred. Good online research, excellent written and verbal communications skills, and strong organizational skills are a must. We seek a self-starter with the ability to switch among different tasks as necessary. You will be mentored in a supportive department with experienced HR professionals.

This is a three month (negotiable) paid internship in Washington, D.C. Anticipated Internship Dates: 4 November 2013 – 7 February 2014. Application Deadline: 31 October 2013. A cover letter is highly recommended when applying for this position.
