DUTIES: Back to top The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as System Administrator supporting Wing Operations by providing overall planning and coordination for the Theater Battle Management Cores Systems (TBMCS) and the Patriot Excalibur (PEX) systems at the unit-level; an integrated set of hardware, software, and communications capabilities providing secure mission planning, execution, resource management and secured data throughout the Wing. Provides system installations, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and sustainment activities on all TBMCS-UL systems throughout the installation.
· Project Officer for planning, coordinating, and installing applications software and hardware for Patriot Excalibur (PEX) and TBMCS Systems.
· Serves as the functionary TBMCS/PEX liaison officer to support installation emergency response during time of crisis.
· Provides technical assistance, a systems advisory service, and training.
· Maintains and evaluates and provides direction for implementation of database standards and policies that have significant impacts on capabilities of the TBMCS/PEX systems.

Specialized experience must include knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices for integrating information system components sufficient to plan, coordinate, and administer computer systems, and optimize system performance.

Federal Time-In-Grade (TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions: Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-09 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral. The purpose of TIG restrictions is to prevent excessively rapid promotions in competitive service GS positions and to protect competitive principles.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices for integrating information system components sufficient to plan, coordinate, and administer computer systems, and optimize system performance.

2. Knowledge of Air Force doctrine, operations, and methods for integrating Patricio Excalibur (PEX) systems in Wing Operations.

3. Knowledge of the latest advancements in technology to initiate corrective or preventative action to ensure optimum performance of the system.

4. Sufficient knowledge of fielded PEX and associated systems to identify problems, recover from system failure, initiate corrective or preventative action to ensure optimum performance of the system.

5. Knowledge of performance tuning tools, database management, and project management methods sufficient to optimize systems performance, troubleshoot database performance problems, and perform a wide range of systems administration functions.

6. Knowledge of operating systems, associated devices, and the interoperability of systems to install, upgrade, troubleshoot, test, and maintain those systems; to optimize the functionality and performance of systems; and to ensure the availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of servers.

7. Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT : · Must be able to attain an access clearance to classified material up to and including Secret.
· Must have minimum 12 months experience as system administrator on PEX Software and supporting hardware.
· Must possess, or obtain within 6 months of assignment, Information Assurance Technician (IAT) level II or Information Assurance Manager (IAM) level I qualification requirements unless a waiver is granted IAW DoD 8570.01-M.
· The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays and/or overtime and may require occasional 12 hour shifts.
· The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. A valid driver’s license is required for the position.
