Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care of critically ill patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards.
Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Serves in the Resource Nurse role when oriented and directed.
Supports the hospital mission, the vision of the nursing department and the philosophy for excellence. Utilizes knowledge of patient’s age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care.
Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.
Monitors and evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of new employees within the introductory period.
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
At least one year experience as a RN in a peri-anesthesia environment.
Demonstrated leadership abilities; able to work under stressful situations. Possesses good oral and written communication skills. A demonstrated ability in interpersonal relationships which enhances communication, promotes conflict resolutions, and facilitates staff development. Skill and knowledge to sustain and evaluate clinical competence in caring for the specific age and type of patient population served.
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in
Critical Care Course preferred within 1 year of employment. Certified Peri Anesthesia Nurse or Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse preferred.
