Starting with job offers dated February 1, 2012 and after, Geisinger Health System will no longer hire applicants who use tobacco products, including cigarettes, cigars and chewing or smokeless tobacco. Administers psychological tests and measures under the supervision of a Clinical Neuropsychologist. Scores, profiles, records and organizes test material in support of the Clinical Neuropsychologist. Maintains high professional standards in terms of conduct, appearance and patient care. Performs other tasks as required to maintain the neuropsychology laboratory and to improve the delivery of patient care.
Responsible directly to the Clinical Neuropsychologist in charge of the laboratory for patient care activities and to appropriate administrative person for other non-patient related matters.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
*Demonstrated clear speech and excellent communication skills.
*Required to read and interpret fairly sophisticated manuals, follow oral and written instructions and to complete reports.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
*Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of concentration such as Education, Mathematics, Social Sciences, or the Biological Sciences required. Minimum of 15 graduate credits in psychology or educational measurement required.
*Experience working with both children and adults preferred.
*Approximately six months of on-the-job training will be required before the technician becomes reasonably independent. As a result of this on-the-job training, substantial independent study will be required initially.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
*Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
*Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and patients to some extent.
