ARMY TECHNICIAN VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
AREA OF CONSIDERATION:
Area 1 = Permanent technicians Enlisted and Warrant Officers currently employed at DCSLOG, MATES or FMS's in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard
To prevent a grade inversion, military rank allowed for this position is Enlisted: SFC and above; Warrant Officers: CW2 and below .
Relocation costs will not be authorized for Permanent Change of Station. Recruitment, Relocation or Retention allowance will not be paid.

- Must be a permanent technician currently employed at DCSLOG, MATES or FMSs.
The purpose of this position is to supervise workers directly or through subordinate leaders and/or supervisors in accomplishing work of the function. Plans work operations of great scope, complexity, and administrative authority. Determines the sequence, priority, and time for performance of operations within the limits of broad work schedules and time limits. Plans use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Assigns tasks to be performed based on readiness and explains work requirements, methods, and procedures.

National Guard military (part-time) service is considered as full-time experience when evaluated against the qualification requirements. The applicant is credited with actual number of months the member has been in the National Guard provided such service is related to the position to be filled.
Experience, education or training which demonstrates the candidate's ability to provide technical guidance on work operations, plan work schedules, direct work, and maintain reports and records.
Applicant must possess more than THIRTY SIX (36) months of specialized experience performing or supervising duties such as diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles and equipment; planning and organizing work assignments for a repair functions; reviewing work requirements and establishing priorities to meet deadlines; repairing or overhauling major components such as diesel, multi-fueling or gasoline engines, turbine engines, automatic and manual transmissions, drive line assemblies, electrical and electronic systems and accessories, fuel injection systems, and emission control systems; using a wide variety of test and diagnostic equipment; interpreting and applying parts list, manufacturer's repair manuals, technical manuals, diagrams, engineering drawings, diagnostic computer information, and schematics; dealing effectively with other people to gain their cooperation in achieving common goals; devising new work methods and procedures or improvements in existing work practices.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Study successfully completed in a college university, technical or vocational school may be substituted at the rate of one academic year of study (30 semester's hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week) for 6 months of experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position. Copy of student transcripts must be included in order to receive credit for education. Unofficial transcripts from internet or with alterations will not be considered. To receive credit for education the information must be included in the education section of the OF 612 or Resume.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Failure to meet or comply with the following requirements will be basis for non-employment or removal from employment, as appropriate.
- Successfully complete a medical screening before placement action and a periodic medical evaluation thereafter.
- Proper protective equipment must be used to comply with safety standards.
- Acceptance of the position constitutes concurrence to wear the appropriate military uniform.
- Possess or be able to acquire a Puerto Rico driver's license/ Heavy Mobile driver's license.
- Individual selected must enroll in the Department of Defense Direct Deposit / Electronic Fund Transfer Pay Program.
- Loss of military membership will result in immediate loss of your full-time military technician position.
- Excepted Civil Service Technicians are required to maintain a MOS/AFSC and military grade that is determined by the NGB to be compatible with the assigned technician position.
COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT:
In order to achieve compatibility prior to effective date of personnel action, individual selected must be eligible for military assignment to a paragraph and line number in one of the following: WOBR 25, 91, 92, 94, WMOS 882A, ECMF 25, 88, 91, 92, 94.
Individual selected for this position that is not qualified in one of the mentioned MOS, MUST submit to HRO, before date of appointment, the correct military paperwork/application to attend the technical training school required to be MOS Qualified. If selectee fails to process the school application and does not successfully graduate from the school, he/she will be terminated from the technician program for failure to meet the compatibility standards and receive a 30 days notice of separation.

Once the vacancy announcement is complete, a review of your application will be made to ensure you meet the job requirements. To determine if you are qualified for this job, an evaluation of your OF 612 or the Resume will be made regarding the possession of the General and Specialized experience, and any other requirements stated in the announcement.
If, after reviewing your OF 612 or Resume a determination is made that you have inflated your qualifications and/or experience, your evaluation can and will be adjusted to more accurately reflect your abilities. Please follow all instructions carefully. OF 612 or resume must contain the month and year in the From and To section. Also, must contain hours per week or specify if the work has been done in Drill status. The amount of work cannot be quantified and will not be credited if one or both items are not filled as instructed. Errors in dates or omissions of information may affect your evaluation.
