This position processes the annual invoicing and water use reports for all surface and groundwater large quantity withdrawals (LQW) received under Part 327, Great Lakes Preservation, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended (NREPA). This position compiles the annual report to Michigan’s legislature on the administration of Part 327 of the NREPA. This position works with senior staff in the Water Use Program to process requests for site specific reviews (SSRs) of proposed LQWs under Part 327; including contacting applicants to correct information on the SSR requests, when appropriate, and updating the Water Use Program’s databases. This position works with other Water Use Program staff to provide information and guidance on the Water Use Program to the regulated community and other interested parties and to provide technical assistance to water user committees under Part 327. This position also collects stream flow measurements and other hydraulic data in support of SSRs.

Required Education and Experience:

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in the physical sciences, biological sciences, resource development, resource management, or engineering.

One year of professional experience equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst 9.

Environmental Quality Analyst P11
Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst including one year equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst 10.
