Our Systems Administrator II position is the key to delivering software and services-based solutions enabling our clients to accurately capture, manage, generate and optimize revenue, strengthen customer relationships and exploit emerging opportunities in highly complex, transformational market environments.

The Systems Administrator II will be a part of a cutting edge DevOps team as it brings agile and lean software development methodologies to operations in an effort to simplify and automate the monitoring of the most important software services offered by CSG International. As a Systems Administrator II on this team the focus will be on identifying and developing application specific metrics and data collection techniques to proactively alert operations and support teams of potential issues. In the role there is the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment consisting of people from operations, product development, quality assurance, and product support organizations.

We are looking for candidates with a strong desire to learn of the software and hardware the architecture of the software services offered by CSG International, and to translate that demonstrated knowledge into reliable scripts and tools for monitoring the application infrastructure.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
  • The applicant will be primarily responsible for developing, operating, and maintaining a Manager of Managers infrastructure.
o The infrastructure consists of multiple monitoring platforms including Microsoft Systems Center Operations Manager, BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management, and BMC Patrol.

o Coordinate with multiple teams to understand application architecture and monitoring requirements.

o Deploy and configure monitoring agents on Windows, Solaris, and Oracle Enterprise Linux environments.

o Maintain the health of the Manager of Managers infrastructure.

  • The applicant will be also responsible for operating and maintaining existing the existing Microsoft Systems Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 infrastructure.
o Deploy and configure monitoring agents on Windows, Solaris, and Oracle Enterprise Linux environments.

o Configure the data collection of network, mainframe, and other SNMP devices.

o Maintain the health of the Operations Manger servers and services.

  • The applicant will be required to create and maintain both customer and technical documentation for tools and processes created or modified.
  • The applicant will be required to leverage CSG’s source control best practices for tools and configuration items created or modified.
  • The applicant will be responsible to provide customer support for existing and new monitoring infrastructure.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Working knowledge of both Windows and UNIX operating systems.
  • Microsoft SCOM 2007 R2 or later Authoring, Reporting, and Administration
  • Experience, including Management Pack authoring.
  • Excellent problem solving skills required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, required.
  • Basic knowledge of networking and network load balancers.
  • Ability to support 24x7 on call rotation.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, ever-changing, team environment.
  • Ability to recognize areas in need of improvement and solve complex problems related to interconnected software components.
  • 2 - 5 years work experience required.
  • General business knowledge required, including specific knowledge of business supported preferred.
