The Business Development Associate is an integral part of the Americas Institutional Distribution group. The primary focus of the role is to provide business development support to the Client Advisor’s in the Corporate Defined Benefit/Defined Contribution and Financial Institutions teams, on multiple levels.

Key Responsibilities:
• Partner with Business Development and Client Service teams to assist with developing strategic sales and client retention plans aligned with firm strategy and initiatives.
•Effectively drive business development activities through:
oAssisting Client Advisors’ or at times, acting independently, to identify client and industry trends used to develop client-focused solutions
oTimely sales opportunity follow-up
oAssist with crafting key selling points for UBS products and solutions.
oThoughtful analysis of our clients’ businesses and the competitive investment marketplace landscape.
oProactively identify worthwhile sales opportunities and business initiatives.
oManagement and effective utilization of client information through the firm’s CRM system.
oVarious other duties as assigned.

Level of Interaction/Support:
This position requires a very high energy level and flexible approach. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, where timely response and detail orientation are essential. The candidate must have a high degree of poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts. Ability to handle projects independently, prioritize workload and solve problems quickly. Must be able to assist individuals of various levels with needs and react to all demands appropriately, with teams across a global platform. The successful candidate must be a solid team player and central to strengthening the overall client relationship.

Requirements
Skill Requirements
•Possess in-depth investment knowledge and the ability to communicate the features and benefits of our products and solutions. Strong negotiation skills preferred.
•Ability to conduct needs assessments, identify obstacles and develop solutions to maximize opportunities.
•Possess excellent presentation, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills.
•Ability to manage a wide range of tasks, being attentive, responsive and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
•Client Focused and enthusiastic team player with the ability to foster and maintain positive relationships with our team and other teams we partner with.
•Self-starter who can work independently and willingness to travel.

Other Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Marketing or related field.
•Two to three years of business development experience is required, and experience in asset management and financial services is highly preferred.
•Knowledge of eVestment Alliance, Zephyr, Morningstar and other financial applications preferred.
•Certified in Series 7 and 63 or willing to obtain certification.
•CFA and/or CAIA or progress towards is strongly encouraged.
