Department: Mercy Pain Center
Performs scheduling duties correctly following established departmental guidelines in an appropriate, timely manner. The scheduling representative is responsible for scheduling patients via the computer system for healthcare services with a high degree of accuracy and customer satisfaction. Scheduling representative must maintain a strong physician network regarding patient access, the position is accountable for working with the office manager to continuously improve services. Excellenttelephone, computer and customer service skills are required. Maintains patient/professional confidentiality, displays a positive attitude and is adaptable to change. Utilizes age specific knowledge and skills where applicable for scheduling patient procedures for all ages. Contacts service areas as needed for information/communication. This position is also responsible for entering patient charges in a timely manner. Batching each days patient charges. The Scheduling Representative will collect patient?s co-pays/deductible as needed. Tracks plans of care and makes sure that they are taken care of in a timely manner. The job requires someone who can function in a multitasking environment. Other duties as needed.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent
Other: Medical TerminologyBasic typing/computer skillsAbility to read and communicate effectively in English. Excellent communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment.Ability to function well in an emergency or crisis situation.
Experience: Medical Office experience preferredInsurance authorization preferred
