The School of Mathematics at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for an anticipated Academic Professional (AP) position in mathematics. The AP will supervise graduate academic assistants and provide administrative support for the Director of Graduate Programs. The responsibilities for the position include a) teaching two classes and creating and overseeing a two-hour career development course for new graduate students; b) assisting with graduate recruiting and admission (serve as primary contact in the recruitment of prospective students, organize recruitment activities, develop advertising materials, maintain prospective applicant files, etc.); c) organizing (together with the TA Coordinator and ESL expert) an annual workshop for new students, overseeing TA contracts, fellowships and tuition waivers, overseeing and maintaining student files, and assisting with registration; d) coordinating communication from the Academic Office (maintain graduate web pages, develop and maintain graduate handbook, etc.); and e) other duties as assigned. Candidates should have excellent teaching skills and knowledge of Word, Excel, Drupal, and TeX/LaTeX. In addition, candidates should possess attention to detail and the ability to work well with a diverse group of people. Significant experience in a graduate school environment, preferably in mathematics, is preferred. Experience collecting and evaluating student data using Banner and Crystal Reports is desirable. A Ph.D. is required for this position.

Although this is a non tenure-track position, this position will be renewable each year in the first five years, subject to annual evaluation and a third-year review, and has potential for promotion to senior academic professional after that period.
