DevDiv Engineering Systems is driving changes that will enable the Visual Studio team to iterate quickly, work efficiently, and deliver value to our customers better than ever before. We manage an engineering system that allows hundreds of people to work together efficiently and be very productive on one of the most important products at Microsoft, Visual Studio including TFS and .NET. The DevDiv Engineering System team is responsible for designing, creating, implementing, and managing the tools, services, and processes to arm the Developer Division engineers to do their best work.
We’re looking for a Development Lead to lead our Validation Crew. This crew is charged with a variety of projects including our Performance and Functional validation infrastructure used for our quality gates and Omni and other Test Frameworks used across the division. This team will work with others in the division to discover, identify, and scope problems, and then they will design and implement the right solutions. This is a position with division-wide impact for the right candidate.
This position requires strong technical, analytical, and customer relationship skills. Your customers are highly technical engineers working on everything from the CLR to the compilers to the IDE, and they are nearby, with some likely to be down the hallway from you. You will need to be able to learn quickly and apply skills to a broad range of projects as you dig in to complex problems and create solutions that scale to a large system and codebase. Experience leading small, agile teams is required. A passion for engineering systems and a familiarity test and validation systems is desirable.
5+ years of experience developing production software in using languages such as C#
BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics or equivalent experience is required.
5+ years experience using VB, JScript, or Razor in addition to C# or C++ is preferred.
Masters or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics is preferred
