This position is responsible for assuring that the design and development of Class II Medical Devices is accomplished in a compliant and expeditious manner.

Is also responsible for supporting transfer of product from development to manufacturing. * With project management, partners with marketing and external customers to deeply understand the application and end use of devices * With project management, uses this understanding to be the voice-of-the-customer while interfacing with our design and development outsourcing partners * Applies engineering knowledge to understand design and development process at outsourcing partners and acts as catalyst for movement of product through thhe development process * Proactively leads efforts that impact product to market, increase efficiency, solve problems, generate cost savings, improve quality, and provide new product development concepts * Partners with project management, device leadership, and supply chain on construction of RFPs (Request for Proposal) and contract content * Is intimate with details of Device Product Development Process (DevPDP) and supports quality engineering during construction of the Design History File (DHF) * Monitors, evaluates, and communicates the completion of tasks and projects * Reviews, approves, and manages documents, especially the RFPs and DHFs, for accuracy and completeness; generates/revises documents as needed * Proactively interfaces with other functions and vendors to resolve issues * Supports and participates with management during internal and external audits/inspections as needed * Assists with the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and specifications as needed * Participates in appropriate continuous improvement initiatives such as Quality Leadership Process (QLP), BioScience Operating System (BOS), Lean, Six Sigma * Provides technical and scientific input to support company objectives * Assist with preparation of project technical budget and forecast and manages to budget * Keeps updated in trends through attendance at related conferences, seminars, and other training methods such as independent study of periodicals, Internet, and trade literature * Participates in the annual strategic planning process * Tracks and trends project metrics and quality indicators * As a leader at Baxter, d
