The Custom Software Development Intern positions will be located in Morgantown, WV and Canonsbug, PA. The interns will gain experience in utilizing Agile development methodologies to develop, test, and distribute Enterprise-class custom software applications.

The interns will have access to tools, systems, and processes to facilitate the creation of blueprints, development of enhancement and reporting code, and application lifecycle management.


The successful candidate would have a minimum of two (2) years completed toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Daily responsibilities of the Custom Software Development Intern position will include:

Design and develop custom applications to meet Mylan’s business needs. Focus is on building N-Tier application components and programmatically defining Business Logic.

Prepare, review and approve application enhancement and report prototypes based on draft requirements.

Develop code and/or configuration changes. Prepare Unit Test Results to demonstrate completeness of design and development. Review code and/or configuration changes.

Buildlow-to-medium complexity solutions, assessing risks, analyzing impact, and providing estimates for work as required.

Ensure the efficient secure operation of in-house computer systems, servers and network connections.

Receive and fulfill requests for operational support via the Remedy Incident Management ticketing system.

Desired competencies/skills:
Strong communication skills;

MS Windows platforms;

One or more .NET technologies ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#;

Experience in T/SQL database development;

Ability to read and understand existing software code;

Ability to complete development assignments with limited direction;

N-Tier and service-driven application architecture (preferred);

Data modeling experience (preferred).

Position will be required to work 20-40 hours per week, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday (flexibility in hours is available).
