College of Nursing
Built on 60+ years of excellence, the FSU College of Nursing develops professional leaders in nursing for practice in diverse health-care settings. The goals of the College are: 1) To cultivate a culture of inquiry and engagement among faculty and students with the ultimate goal of improving the profession; 2) To develop inter-professional partnerships for research, clinical practice and education; 3) To provide leadership for the improvement of nursing practice and the healthcare system; 4) To provide evidence-based educational experiences that prepare nurses to address the healthcare needs of diverse populations. The College of Nursing program offerings include baccalaureate and master of science, and doctor of nursing practice degrees.
In collaboration with Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, the College of Nursing has established a Center for Research and Evidence Based Practice, which is located in the College of Nursing on the FSU campus. The College has a continued commitment to cultivate interdisciplinary professional collaborative practice and research opportunities with Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare and across disciplines within the University. Undergraduate honors students and graduate students in the Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Educator and Health Systems Leadership tracks partner with faculty to achieve the goals of improving practice and healthcare systems.
Candidates should hold a doctoral degree in nursing or related discipline and demonstrate scholarly distinction appropriate for an appointment as a full professor in the College. Significant experience in teaching and research, proven record of collaborative leadership and grant writing, commitment to shared governance, excellent administrative and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated success in fund raising/alumni relations is expected.
