Knowledge of computer systems
Under the direction of the Senior ER/OD Advisor, this position provides support and assistance to the HR department through a generalist approach in the following areas: Counsel/Support to Management, Policy Administration, AAP and Workforce Goals, Staff Planning, Employee Development, Performance Enhancement, ADA, FMLA and Disability Case Management, Organizational Change Management, Incident Investigation/Discipline. Employment Law, Meeting Facilitation, and Special Projects as assigned.
1.Bachelor Degree in Human Resources and 5 years experience preferred. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
2.Extensive knowledge of employment and labor laws for the state of Montana preferred.
3.Certification in Human Resources area preferred.
4.Experience with facilitation, presentation, and training delivery required.
5.Able to deal with stressful situations competently, effectively, and courteously.
6.Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook required. Meditech, Kronos preferred.
1.Assists in providing counsel and assistance to employees and management in interpreting policies and procedures, proactively dealing with employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, grievance procedure, investigations in the areas of harassment, workplace violence, drug/alcohol issues, privacy and confidentiality issues, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
2.As a member of the ER/OD team, provides employee advocate services including assistance/resources for conflict resolution, grievance process, accessing the Employee Assistance Program, and other community resources for personal issues which may be impacting work performance.
3.Collaborates with employees, Benefits Specialist and Occupational Health and Wellness department on Worker’s Compensation, Family Medical Leaves, and accommodations under American with Disabilities Act as requested.
4.Participates in assessing HR training needs of employees and leadership; actively participates in delivering, evaluating, and training of staff using a variety of methods. Serves as Project Coordinator for various HR initiatives/reports as assigned.
5.Conducts exit interviews with staff. Compiles timely reports of exit data information, communicates exit interview trends/data to HR team. In collaboration with HR leadership, assesses, develops and implements process improvement strategies including management development coaching as needed.
6.Handles NWHC unemployment claims including gathering factual information and attending hearings as required.
7.As requested, provides assistance and recommendations in developing, implementing, tracking and updating HR Policies and Procedures. Stays abreast of employment law issues.
8.Maintains electronic tracking records for disciplinary corrective actions, grievance submissions and outcomes, and for Board of Nursing reports.
