Under general direction from the VP of Strategic Initiatives, plans, designs, and implements epidemiological research in the areas of insulin resistance, diabetes, cardiac disease, and metabolic syndrome; analyzes and interprets laboratory data to identify hidden risk within population health, employer groups, and health system studies.

Job Responsibilities:

• Interprets and analyzes statistical data and produces outcome reports for clients
• Builds data models to identify hidden risk factors related to diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and cardiac disease
• Develops statistical and technical summary reports based on laboratory and self-reported data
• Implements epidemiological research projects; plans, coordinates, and directs collection, coding, and entry of data
• Develops and maintains computerized databases to monitor the current health status of target groups
• Evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of engagement strategies and determines health status outcomes in order to ensure that established program standards are met

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of principles and methods of biostatistics and demography, as well as principles, theories, and procedures of epidemiology, including study design, statistical analysis, and causal inference
• Knowledge of current research and trends in public health
• Skilled in appropriate computer processing methods used to generate, organize and display statistical and research data
• Knowledge of standard English grammar, spelling, and usage
• Ability to apply mathematical formulas and make calculations
• Skilled in selecting and applying appropriate statistical methods for collecting and summarizing varied and complex field data
• Experience in gathering, organizing, analyzing, and reporting epidemiological and biostatistical data
• Proven ability to evaluate possible intervention strategies
• Ability to apply epidemiological and biostatistical design method theories and advanced statistical analysis
• Ability to design, develop, and maintain manual and/or computerized databases
• Prior use of computer software programs to perform statistical analysis
• Proven ability to read and understand complex technical information in mathematical or diagrammatical form
• Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely, and logically
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with representatives from other departments, general public, and outside organizations
