Assistant /Associate Professor TT – Rural Health
The University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Administration seeks applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor at its Rockford campus.
The Rockford campus affords a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with the University of Illinois College of Medicine's National Center for Rural Health Professions. We are seeking candidates who are interested in scholarship and research specifically in rural health issues and would pursue expanding these interests specifically to the profession of pharmacy.
Founded in 1859, our college is the 3 rd oldest college of pharmacy in the United States and the oldest entity within the University of Illinois system. Our PharmD and research programs are consistently ranked within the top 10 colleges of pharmacy in the country.
The successful candidate for this position will be expected to establish and maintain an active, extramurally funded research program and participate in teaching in the professional education program of the college and graduate program of the department, including the Rural Pharmacy/Rural Health Professions Program.
At a minimum, candidates should have an earned doctorate in public health, rural health, economics or a suitably related field, or a clinical doctorate in pharmacy or medicine along with either a research-intensive fellowship or a master’s of public health degree. Applicants should display strong statistical and methodological skills, as well as a collaborative research orientation. Qualified applicants with expertise in rural workforce issues, health disparities among rural underserved populations, community-based research, interdisciplinary practice, and/or pharmacoepidemiology are strongly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong publication track record and history of competing successfully for extramural funding.
