. The Cargill Beardstown environmental department aims to manage environmental compliance to continually improve and reduce the facility's environmental impact. The environmental technician will be involved with the operation and maintenance of the environmental process at the Beardstown location including the wastewater treatment plant, the composting facility and the land-application farm. This person will routinely work independently and on a team. Indentification of process needs and improvement opportunities, as well as problem-solving, are central to all of the environmental processes. This position will require some evening and weekend hours.
50% Operation of the wastewater treatment plant, including the biogas recovery system
20% Operation of the composting process
10% Laboratory analysis for process control and environmental compliance
10% Operation and management of the land-application farm and surrounding grounds
5% Assist in environmental management programs and compliance audits plant-wide
5% Any other duties as assigned
Ability to work both alone and in a team, with strong communication skills
General math skills
Time management skills
Ability to obtain Illinois Class K Wastewater certification after 6 months of experience
Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
Previous wastewater experience
