In this role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning and budgeting, and contribute to the overall business strategy. In this role, you will:
Develop and implement site-specific Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs and processes including emergency preparedness and fire protection, safety risk assessments and safe working procedures for both office and non-office activities, hazardous waste management, required site environmental permitting (including Title V), ergonomics, contractor safety, security access control, manned guarding, and crisis management
Work with the business operational managers to ensure that all operational activities are clearly identified and risk assessed to ensure safe working procedures are developed and any safety hazards are appropriately controlled (e.g. barriers and engineering controls)
Be responsible for identification and timely submission of all applicable EHS permits (fire safety occupancy permits and any environmental / operating permits required for the operation of the facility) to meet operational start-up schedule
Support the facilities team to identify safety and security critical equipment and develop preventative maintenance plans to manage these effectively and compliantly
Work with the leadership team to review EHS / Security status to ensure a compliant, safe and secure facility
Support site emergency response plan and incident management team.
Develop and implement a comprehensive training plan to cover both site induction orientations and task specific safety training
Induct and train local employees and contractors / service companies in basic EHS awareness and GE requirements, and any local rules, and also on job-specific risks in the materials / manufacturing / re-manufacturing areas
Conduct compliance and framework audits and reviews necessary to meet company and local compliance requirements to reduce risk liability
Establish injury prevention initiatives focused on world-class health and safety performance
Drive continuous improvement in compliance processes, employee training, and EHS performance
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college
Minimum of 5 years of experience EHS management including manufacturing or service facility experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or Environmental Science
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) credentials
Ability to implement EHS programs and achieve measurable goals
Ability to self-manage and organize priorities
Prior operational experience of business continuity planning and incident management
Strong project management skills
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Six Sigma training (GE employees only)
Strong auditing skills
Ability to train and motivate employees
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
