person in this position is responsible for Substance Abuse
Counselor and Group Facilitation duties for the Federal Drug
Aftercare and Non-Residential Program Services in La Crosse,
Wisconsin. AODA programming must be delivered in a secular
manner free of religious components, following the agency
prescribed curriculum. This person is responsible for maintaining
his/her appropriate credentials and/or certifications and
appropriate clinical supervision. The person in this position
collaborates with the U.S. Probation/Pretrial Services and
DCC for client referrals in providing group services, and
discharge recommendations. The person in this position must
maintain strict confidentiality of all agency, office and
client related information. Duties include receiving referrals,
completing intake paperwork, preparing and maintaining client
files, complete/maintain various reports as required.
Substance Abuse Counselor certification required (SAC-IT minimum,
or CSAC preferred)
1 year experience counseling, group facilitation experience
Ability to relate to a diverse population and to be ethnically
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good organizational skills; detail minded
Ability to enforce rules and set discipline
Must be computer proficient in word processing and email.
Ability to make good judgments in routing and emergency situations
Ability to work well with limited direct supervision
Per Week: Part-time; 15-18 hours/week
Days: Evenings & Backup
