Learning and Development Manager Wayfair -

Wayfair is currently seeking a high capacity/high caliber Manager of Learning & Development and Leadership Development to grow our world-class retention and human capital plan. This role will be critical to our strategic goals of improving engagement and helping to build the next generation of leaders at one of e-commerce’s success stories (Wayfair was recently profiled in Inc. magazine, Wall Street Journal, TechCrunch, New York Times, and other publications).
The Learning & Development Manager will be responsible for delivering creative solutions to senior management that support Wayfair’s retention and growth goals. Reflecting its importance, this role reports directly to a business-line owner on the Wayfair executive team who has a strong commitment to and experience with L&D and training. With a collaborative link to our HR Operations and Talent Acquisition teams, this role is positioned to be a keystone member in our human capital strategy with strong senior team visibility.
Building on strong L&D Team momentum (1+ year delivering core Wayfair University skills programming, a highly popular and successful orientation and onboarding program, successful initial pilots of emerging leadership and mentoring programs), the successful candidate will be passionate about further raising the bar and making rapid inroads to deliver on the goal of making Wayfair a top choice for today and tomorrow’s e-commerce leaders.
With support from a small team of training specialists, he/she will be expected to develop and oversee the successful delivery of the following:
High-potential development (selective emerging leadership programs, rotational programs, etc.)
New and prospective Manager training
Senior Management training and mentoring programs
Wayfair University (includes software, soft skills, business acumen coursework)
Professional Development/Internal Networking programs
Orientation (on-boarding) programming for Boston office; on-boarding support for six other global offices
Bi-annual performance reviews process
Bi-annual employee engagement survey and post-survey action plan
Coaching business managers to develop top-tier coursework that they would facilitate
Develop L&D toolkit (e-learning formats, new training formats, new program development, QA & learning objectives, etc.)
Develop & maintain L&D dashboard and success metrics (NPS, human capital measurement, etc.)
Just-in-Time employee development solutions for business managers with specific needs
Development of overall L&D Team skill sets and capabilities
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
Prior experience working in a top-tier start-up, software or similar environment
Strong business acumen and demonstrated credibility a broad range of business issues
High comfort with ambiguity and great instincts for how to make things happen
A balance of “highly credible business leader with a track record of success” with “scrappy” and “willing to do whatever it takes to make something happen in the short term”
A resourceful, born networker who is able to provide immediate value in the midst of getting to know and understand every part of the business
Passion for delivery, and an eye on building the best in the industry

Other Skills and Qualifications:
5+ years proven L&D experience in a high-growth, fast-paced, corporate environment; a history of adapting to a range of small and large environments will be a significant advantage
Successful leadership and team management experience
Ability to act as HR business partner, providing strong internal client consultative skills
Deep experience and success facilitating training sessions for both junior and senior-level employees, and with teaching others how to facilitate the full range of content (soft skills, deeply technical skills, highly business-specific content
Proven and successful track record in designing and implementing employee development and performance management programs
Experience designing and implementing talent development programs at multiple levels of an organization (e.g., new hires and senior executives)
Experience working with senior management teams
Experience with resource and succession planning
Self-directed with attention to detail, thoroughness, follow-up and follow-through
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal relations skills
Ability to multi-task on multiple high-priority projects concurrently
Desire and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Experience with ADP, Cornerstone OnDemand, and Jobvite preferred
