Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor/Joint Staff, under the general supervision of the Program Manager, shall deliver and pickup supplies and furniture to customers of the JCS Office; to include but not limited to inventory, operate the Self Service Supply Center (SSSC), work in the warehouse and manage authorized supply items as directed by the Chief of Supply; conduct office moves within and outside the Pentagon for authorized customers of the JCS and provide resources to process, deliver and pickup excess/surplus material to authorized recipients and assemble/disassemble workstations/furniture within the Joint Staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver and pick up material in a professional and courteous manner with minimum disruption to customer.

Conduct office moves within and outside of the Pentagon.

Deliver and pickup material using Contractor provided equipment for JCS customers located outside of the Pentagon.

Safeguard and protect furniture from damage and related material delivered and picked up.

Properly inventory and obtain signed receipts from authorized agents for all material picked-up and or delivered in support of the JCS mission.

Load and unload trucks in a careful and professional manner.

Provide support to Joint Staff Directorates in the set-up and removal of tables and chairs for ceremonies in a courteous manner, with minimal disruption to customer operations, and at the designated time required.

Coordinate the daily schedules of transporting and pickup of material with the Joint Staff Property Book Officer and Government Purchase Card Holders to include daily mail deliveries throughout the Joint Staff Directorate.

Self-Service Supply Center Support Functions:
Assist in the operation of a small supply center where administrative/office supplies are issued to Joint Staff Directorates.

Operate and maintain the Counterpoint Data Base System, or equivalent inventory tracking system to assist in the identification of additions, deletions and changes in the Self Service Supply Center’s Inventory.

Conduct physical inventory, manually reconcile on-hand stock with on-hand quantities, stock shelves, and receive delivery of inventory from outside vendors.

Assist in the loading and unloading of inventory.

Ensure the accuracy and adherence to established inventory procedures by planning, organizing, and conducting regular audits of warehouse facilities.

Research inventory variances, control inventory deviations by tracking discrepancies between physical inventory and system records and correct any physical discrepancies as required.

Joint Staff Warehouse Support Functions:
Manage the operations and daily scheduling of the Joint Staff Supply Center and warehouse personnel required to complete logistics related functions in support of the Joint Staff and its Directorates.

Maintain close communications with the Chief of Supply on issues that directly affect the warehouse operations and ensure that they are informed of any order problems, delivery recommendations, and other activities in the warehouse.

Ensure the accuracy and adherence to established inventory procedures by planning, organizing, and conducting regular audits of warehouse facilities.

Research inventory variances, control inventory deviations by tracking discrepancies between physical inventory and system records and correct any physical discrepancies as required.

Load, unload, relocate, and deliver furniture to include safes and durable office supplies to Joint Staff Directorates in the Pentagon and throughout the Washington DC area.

Ensure that supplies are properly received and delivered to the appropriate office in a timely manner.

Match order numbers or packing slips for non-stock deliveries on manifest to material and perform research for all invoice problems on both stock and non-stock items.

Assist in training new employees in ramp/warehouse operations to include all safety aspects of warehouse operations to include shipping, receiving, deliveries, surplus property disposal, and equipment maintenance.

Ensure that good housekeeping practices are observed at all times.

Non - Essential Duties:

Qualifications- Experience, Education and Certifications (Relevant experience may be substituted for any of the following– other qualifications may be considered as equivalents, at the discretion of the hiring authority)

Required

Minimum five (5) years’ relevant work experience.

Minimum of (2) years’ supervisory experience in related capacity.

Proficiency in Microsoft computer applications.

Must have or be able to attain a DOD security clearance.

Must have or be able to attain a clearance from the National Criminal Information Center (NCIC).

Preferred

Experience with Government contracting a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work in high production environment (50+ hours/week, including nights and weekends are expected) and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines.

Ability to make independent judgments to manage and facilitate company programs/policies as they relate to the safety of our work.

Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.

High attention to detail and quality workmanship.

Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate the work requirements with and various staff and subcontractors.

Ability to prioritize, organize and work well under stress and maintain deadlines.

Ability to be flexible and adapt to constant change.

Ability to work flexible hours in order to meet deadlines.

Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with internal and external clients and co-workers.

Ability to follow direction is a must.

Able to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to complete each task assignment.

Proficiency in Microsoft computer application.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and must have the ability to climb stairs and ladders in a construction/plant environment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds from floor to waist. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Adequate hearing, with or without a hearing aid. Ability to distinguish colors.

Work Environment:

Most work will be performed in environmentally controlled warehouse areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Safety shoes may be required to be worn.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Ability to speak, read and write English to successfully perform the task.

Present at the work site at all times when contract work is in progress and have the authority to sign inspection reports and all other correspondence.

Additional Qualifying Factors:
As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results.
