Participate in the development of additives for use in Industrial, Automotive and Decorative Coatings, through: a) assessing their fundamental rheological, wetting, dispersant and adhesion properties; and b) making and testing fully formulated coatings.
Develop new coating formulations that showcase the benefit of the new additives.
Prepare and deliver presentations to customers, industry meetings/conferences and senior management.
Respond to technical questions from customers.
Design and execute experiments to find solutions to customer related issues.
BS with at least 3 years of experience in a coatings applications laboratory.
MS/PhD in material science or related field. Emphasis on studies related to coatings technology preferred.
Formulating and testing coatings (or inks) containing a broad range of resins and additives.
Collaborating with a team of scientists to design, synthesize and evaluate coating additives.
Working independently through all stages of a project – from developing project objectives, through execution, to reporting of data in a clear and concise manner.
Team and detail oriented.
Excellent presentation skills – oral and written.
