Ambulatory Services Division/ Shoreline Surgery Center Position located in Guilford, CT Schedule; Full-time with benefits The Registration Associate demonstrates effective organizational skills and positive interactions with patients & their families, medical staff, third party representatives and hospital personnel. Duties include performing a variety of administrative patient related activities, such as receiving /processing department paperwork, registering patients upon arrival, managing the reception area and ensuring the accuracy and completion of patient information. Additional general office and clerical activities may be required at the request of the department and/or Manager to ensure safe, effective and efficient operations of the facility. EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent. Associate's degree in a Business related field preferred, or equivalent work experience. EXPERIENCE : Minimum two years experience in a medical practice of healthcare facility. Experience should include use of PCs .Knowledge of medical insurances is required. Extensive knowledge of insurance requirements. SPECIAL SKILLS: Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, written and verbal communications skills. PC skills including Word processing and other related software. Employee must be articulate, pleasant and have a professional telephone manner. Must be able to work seated for a long period of time while maintaining pleasantness and efficiency. Must demonstrate positive customer relations with patients.
