Primary Functions:

Teller and other administrative support of Special Credits collection function.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform teller job functions, balancing functions for individual and branch summaries, and GL accounts as assigned.
  • Perform system of record financial functions, as well as general demographic changes on collection software.
  • Receive and distribute mail and update member account information. Act as receptionist for the department, responding to routine inquiries.
  • Responsible for assigned data entry and timely and accurate preparation of documents for the department, including but not limited to payment requests for prorating agencies and department suppliers.
  • Assist in researching accounts, including, but not limited to, charge off preparation.
  • Maintain credit union and department records, including, but not limited to spreadsheets, microfilm/fiche and hard-copy files, particularly relating to negotiable items.
  • Provide support to staff and members by training and developing familiarity with collection and other credit union functions.
  • Provide support functions for credit reporting disputes assigned to the department. These include accepting telephone submittals of disputes, as well as providing support documents and maintaining records of disputes.
  • Provide IT Liaison support as directed by SC Admininistration Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualification Requirements:
  • Education - High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience Required - Not Applicable
  • Skills - Six months general office work with some knowledge of collection law preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills required. Must have strong personality traits to handle adverse situations daily. Proficient in use of typewriter and calculator. Familiarity with office computer software preferred.
  • Tenure - SC Administration Specialist II, Category 15, requires six months tenure in the SC Administration Specialist I position with performance that meets or exceeds expectations.SC Administration Specialist III, Category 14 requires twelve months tenure in the SC Administration Specialist II position with performance that meets or exceeds expectations. Directly related work experience and/or accelerated training completion may be substituted for tenure.
