The mission of the Air Force Global Strike Command is to develop and provide safe, secure and credible combat-ready forces for nuclear deterrence and global strike operations to support the President of the United States and combatant commanders.
Military service member's "Statement of Service" will be accepted up to 120 days prior to separation date IF a terminal leave form or DD214 cannot be provided.
The "Statement of Service" must be signed by, or by direction of, the adjutant, personnel officer, or commander of your unit or higher headquarters and must indicate when your terminal leave will begin, your rank, dates of active duty service, the Type of Discharge and Character of Service (i.e. honorable).

The primary purpose of this position is to operate engineering and construction equipment and perform functions as snow removal, cutting, moving, digging, grading, and rolling earth, sand, stone, and other materials.
Operates one or more types of heavy equipment to push, pull, pile, or load materials, such as sand, gravel, earth, coal, moving and covering refuse, and clearing brush, rocks, tree stumps, and other material.
Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment. Uses and assures proper fit of required safety equipment and clothing.
Uses and maintains tools and equipment. Performs maintenance, such as checking and replenishing fluids to proper levels, examining and changing filters, lubricating equipment, and making necessary adjustments.
Maintains records, documents action. Initiates or annotates forms or reports, such as Operator's Inspection Guide and Trouble Report, Temporary Issue Receipt Form, Base CE Work Clearance Request Form, and up-dates The Civil Engineering Material Acquisition System (CEMAS).

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C; (e.g. WG-5716, ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT OPERATOR, dated SEP, 2012). Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which they are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

nowledge of engineering equipment, such as graders, tractors with bulldozer or angle dozer blades, front-end loaders, backhoes, trench diggers, and large industrial tractors with pan or scraper attachments.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the different sets of controls and operation of equipment and attachments. Skill in manipulating the controls to adjust spreaders, sprayers, post hole diggers, backhoes, moveable dozer blades, and front-end loading devices.
2. Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Knowledge of regulations, procedures, and policies related to records maintenance and documentation.
4. Ability to use and maintain power tools, hand tools, and related equipment.
5. Ability to read and interpret instructions, specifications, drawings, and sketches.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
1. Overtime may be required.
2. The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license may be required for the position.
3. Shift work may be required.
4. The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
5. May be required to train and/or guide lower grade employees.
6. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
Heavy physical effort is used by the operator in constantly reaching, bending, turning, and moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to handle different sets of controls to operate the equipment and attachments.
Considerable strain is caused by the constant vibration of the equipment and the jerking and jolting from operating over rough surfaces.
Frequently required to work in awkward or strained positions.
The employee works outside in all kinds of weather, often in an open drivers seat or platform, on hills, slopes, grades, rolling surfaces, and forests.
The operator is exposed to injury due to the possibility of the equipment overturning.
Employee is subject s to noise, vibration, dust, dirt, and fumes from the motor and exhaust.
May be required to wear protective clothing, such as hard hats, steel-toed shoes, gloves, masks, and aprons.
