Global Health Care Group is looking for a Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist to provide services at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Coatesville VA Medical Center in Pennsylvania.

Work Schedule: The Ultrasound Technologist will work 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, except during Federal Holidays. Normal Work hours are from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Period of Performance: One base year and it may be extended upon acceptable performance and all necessary state reviews and approvals.
Description of Services (includes but it is not limited to):
The services to be performed by the Contractor will be under the direction of the Chief Technologist and the Chief, Radiology Services.
Performs quality control procedures on all instruments, to include voltage checks, test on uniformity and resolution daily to ensure that all equipment is in proper working and record results in the proper log books .
Reviews and abstracts data from patient's chart to assist the physician in interpreting the studies and enters any pertinent data into the patient's chart.
Interpretation is required of a broad range of knowledge on medical conditions, equipment capabilities, examination process and other variables .
Technologists shall be responsible for compliance with all procedures in accordance with applicable VA written policies and procedures .
Technologists shall not introduce new procedures or services without prior recommendation and approval by VA's Chief of Radiology Service, Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR ), Chief Technologist or the Contracting Officer.
Technologist shall be willing to be put on the stand-by pager call coverage for the ultrasound section.
Technologist Proficiency requirements:
The Technologist must review previous related studies in PACS prior to beginning a study.
The Technologist must complete patient exams in a timely manner.
The Technologist must review all exams with a radiologist prior to releasing patient.
The Technologist must be proficient in use of a variety of ultrasound equipment.
The Technologist must perform all general ultrasound exams, i.e. gallbladders, spleen, kidneys, and so forth.
The Technologist is responsible for performing all vascular studies such as carotids, ABIs, and upper and lower extremities.
The Technologist must perform all echocardiogram exams.
The Technologist will accurately complete patient study work sheets prior to reviewing the exam with the radiologist.
The Technologist will review vendor time keeping document with Program Manager at week's end to ensure accuracy.
Per VA 6500 Handbook all personnel will complete VA Privacy and Information Security Awareness and Rules of Behavior training in TMS prior to start date and before all computer access will be granted.
License: The Ultrasound Technologist shall have and maintain a national registry in Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), and a minimum of Two (2) RDMS Specialty Certifications, preferably in Abdomen and Small parts.
Education: Must have graduated from a certified Ultrasound Technologist program and possess at a minimum a High School Diploma or equivalent. A Bachelor Degree is desired, but not required.
Certifications: Must possess and maintain a valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
Experience: Shall have provided ultrasound services a minimum of three (3) years of experience within the past thirty-six months, preferably in a hospital setting.
Language Skills: Must speak English proficiently.
Credentialing of Healthcare Professionals: In accordance with VHA Directive 2012-30, Ultrasound technicians shall privileged and credential prior to the commencement of any work on this contract. It is VHA policy that all health care professionals who claim licensure, certification, or registration, as applicable to the position and who are not currently credentialed in accordance with VHA Handbook 1100.19, must be credentialed.
