The Executive Director & Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Aspirus Network, Inc. (ANI) will provide leadership, direction and administration of all aspects of Aspirus Network, Inc. to ensure accomplishment of its goals and objectives as established by the ANI Board of Directors. The incumbent will work in tandem with the Senior Medical Director of Aspirus Clinics, Inc. (ACI), the Chief Medical Officer for Aspirus Wausau Hospital (AWH), and other affiliates for purposes of developing clinical integration activities, that support ANI including aligning incentives and outcome measures, preventing duplication, and expediting the process of performance improvement/success recognition. Knowledge of the development of physician leadership and strategic development of medical care, as well as medical standards, practices and procedures normally acquired through graduation from a residency accredited by the ACGME, AOA, or other formal residency program accepted by the ANI Board. Completion of a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or other related field preferred. Is or becomes licensed by the State of Wisconsin to practice medicine. A minimum of three years’ experience in the practice of medicine (post-residency/ fellowship), direct patient care and demonstrated skills and experience in clinical and administrative leadership through activities including, but not limited to, advanced healthcare administration course work, service as a medical staff officer, or program medical director. Board certification in a clinical specialty necessary. A minimum of three years’ (five year’s’ preferred) experience at a senior level working in health plans/payor organizations or with physician practices and healthcare systems is required. Experience working in physician-led, integrated healthcare delivery organizations, provider-owned health plans, or in health plan medical management highly preferred. Experience in implementing clinical integration strategies is important. Experience as successful influencer who can interact effectively with diverse groups of stakeholders such as other physicians, healthcare administration, health plans and staff. Extensive knowledge of clinical quality measures including process and outcomes metrics, as well as population health management. Proven communication skills, including listening and presenting. Ability to lead change and achieve support for change; build consensus.
