SUMMARY: The ideal candidate will be passionate about PR and communications. This person will help the PR team by crafting press materials relating to a variety of products and channels, as well assist with the implementation of PR initiatives, outreach, and departmental needs that further the GMCR’s Specialty Coffee business unit brands. This is an exciting role to learn about media relations, social media, and the coffee and specialty beverage industry and contribute to our growing department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · This position will manage editorial calendars for proactive PR pitching. · This role will assist with PR results reporting, tracking and merchandising, work with outside vendors for support on select projects. · This person will be responsible for organizing, maintaining, and reaching out to the media outlets for media clips for internal and external merchandising. · Assist with preparing and shipping press materials and samples to media and other VIP contacts. · This role will build and maintain organizational systems for PR files, contacts, publications, and materials. · The position will also provide back-up writing and editing support in various writing pieces, including foundational materials and blog entries. · They will assist in building GMCR presence at select events, as necessary. · This role will assist with various projects as assigned by management. OTHER NECESSARY FUNCTIONS: · This role requires effective time management skills, multi-tasking, prioritizing projects/requests, meeting deadlines and managing expectations. · Follows all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by GMCR and the department. · Performs other duties as requested by management. QUALIFICATIONS : · Must be currently enrolled in college (juniors and seniors preferred). · The ideal candidate will have impeccable written/verbal communication skills. · Effective time management, and the ability to prioritize projects/requests, meet tight deadlines, and contribute creative, professional insights. · Follows all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by GMCR and the department. · Prefer PR-related work experience and/or strong interest in media relations and communications. · Ability to get along with others, be punctual, and follow instruction. · Ability to follow GMCR policies and procedures An offer of employment for this position will be contingent upon the individual successfully completing a pre-employment physical, as provided by a GMCR selected physician.
