Liberty Mutual's Commercial Insurance is actively searching for a Claims Case Manager II to join the Workers' Compensation Claims team. This position manages, investigates and resolves assigned claims as well as assists in providing service to policyholders/customers.

Manages, processes and resolves assigned claims

Evaluates compensability/liability/disability and settles claims within prescribed limits

Communicates with policyholders/customers, witnesses, etc. in order to gather information regarding claims and refers tasks to auxiliary units as necessary

Responds to various written and telephone inquiries including status reports

Ensures adequacy of reserves

Confirms or denies coverage and advises policyholders as to proper course of action

Assists in customer service activities, including participation in claims reviews and consultation on risk management

Makes effective use of loss management techniques (Direct Dealing, ICP, Disability Management, open end release, first call settlements)

Negotiates settlements with attorneys, claimants, and/or co-defendants

Proactively directs litigation management, which may include working with attorneys assigned to particular claims

Updates files and provides comprehensive reports as required

Good interpersonal, analytical and negotiation abilities required

Knowledge of legal liability, general insurance policy coverage and State's Workers' Compensation Act

College education or equivalent training plus 6-9 months of directly related experience preferred

Licensing required in some states
