The Cargill Transportation and Logistics (CTL) IT Business Analyst role provides both 2nd and 3rd level technical support for the suite of applications that manage the utilization of transportation assets (equipment, positioning and shipments) of Cargill’s products as they move throughout North America via rail and truck. This role supports both in-house developed and vendor Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) software for banking, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) data, rail and trucking applications and customer data warehouse.
This role requires a wide breadth of technical skills to bridge the support and project gaps between infrastructure, IT application development staff, corporate IT support teams and external vendor IT support teams. Example applications/technologies include (but not limited to); Windows Server 2008, JD Edwards (JDE) World, Tibco & Webmethods B2B & financial banking applications.
The suite of applications includes banking software for payments using US Bank PowerTrack, mileage rating and payment software using the Rate Server Transpay (RAP) Application Suite (RateServer, TRANSPay, MileMaker, PC*Miler|Rail, Czar Lite), and eTracker equipment manangment system.
60% - Provide day to day application support services for the suite of CTL Applications which includes US Bank integrations, daily/monthly EDI transactions, Rate Server Transpay (RAP) Application Suite, eTracker application, ETL scripts and associated data warehouse. Working with the other internal IT teams, such as the JDE application support team, on data integrity issues and working to resolve complex data or technical problems. Collaborate with the AIS Application Integration Support team to troubleshoot data integration issues that use Tibco & WebMethods B2B. Researching and solving complex rating issues and determining appropriate solutions using previous experience and existing knowledge base. Represent CTL changes as needed through ITIL change processes.
15% - Follow and execute the testing guidelines for all new releases/upgrades of the RAP Application Suite, including analyzing, assisting and working jointly with the software vendor, Business Units, AIS Application Integration Support team and other CTL Support team members to support and test the software.
10% - Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the application suite and develop and implement solutions to improve the overall health of the application system and associated processes. Provide consulting and analysis for business units that are implementing/have implemented the RAP Application Suite, which includes the setup/validation of business users, company codes & warehouses.
10% - Manage the ongoing technology vendor relationship as it relates to the change control process, quality assurance, application upgrades, infrastructure upgrades, and implementation of additional functionality with the CTL Applications.
5% - Participate in after hours on call rotation support (evenings, weekends, holidays) for the CTL applications.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
2+ year experience technical analysis experience
5+ years of overall IT experiences
3 + years expertise with SQL and PL/SQL
of experience coding and debugging in .Net
Experience presenting to leadership team’s
Demonstrated knowledge of Incident and Change management processes and supporting tools
Demonstrated effective customer service skills
Self-motivated with proven problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences

1+ year(s) experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Unix Shell scripting
Experience or knowledge working with EDI transactions and application integration support

Experienced using BMC Remedy or similar tool to track incidents and changes
Knowledge of database technologies such as Oracle and SQL Server

Previous successful application support experience
