This position provides leadership, in collaboration with the Clinical Program Operations Director, in developing, planning, organizing, implementing and managing the specified Clinical Program Development Teams and/or projects in terms of overall system goals of clinical quality, value and satisfaction.
The focus of this role will be to oversee the Critical Care Development Team in partnership with the Critical Care Medical Director and assist with the implementation of a new Tele-ICU initiative for Intermountain Healthcare which will include hiring and managing the Tele-ICU nursing staff and leading and unit clinical operations. The incumbent will work with clinical and nonclinical leaders throughout Intermountain Healthcare to develop and implement Tele-ICU initiatives including prioritizing, planning, operationalizing and measurement of their quality, outcome, and financial goals.

Scope : This position is a system-wide staff position which leads, facilitates, coordinates, and in some aspects directs system-wide clinical program operations relative to specific development team strategies, team development, planning, implementing, evaluating and compliance initiatives.
Responsible to ensure clinical excellence throughout the clinical program:
Collaborates with the Clinical Program Operations Director and the Medical Director in developing assigned development team goals and projects. Takes the lead on implementing and monitoring clinical program goals and initiatives, for the assigned development teams, in collaboration with facility/region operations, clinicians, physicians and administration.
Drives clinical research and helps to emphasize this throughout all clinical program initiatives.
Collaborates with the assigned development team’s medical leaders in developing, implementing and monitoring all goals and initiatives for the assigned development teams, in collaboration with facility/region operations, clinicians, physicians and administration.
In collaboration with the Medical Director of the assigned development teams or projects, leads the process for involving teams and develops and prepares agendas for the development team meetings and develops and implements plans to define, measure and improve quality and optimize the delivery of care throughout the system.
Works collaboratively with the Medical Group, Select Health, Human Resources, Compliance, Risk Management, Finance and other central departments to reach our clinical goals in all dimensions of care.
Stays abreast of clinical program innovations through local, regional and national networking and acts as a subject-matter expert and resource to others.
Works with the clinical program data manager, analyst and the assigned clinical collaboration leads in collaborating with IS in development and implementing clinical information systems.
Responsible to create and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders:
Develops rapport and relationships with the medical staff, administration, hospital personnel and communities in all facilities relative to the Clinical Program. Serves as a resource for stakeholders.
Responsible to obtain operational efficiencies within the clinical program:
Leads or participates in the development and implementation of cost savings strategies for the assigned development teams in collaboration with the supply chain organization, CFOs and operation leadership of each region and facility.
Works with the Clinical Program Operations Director to identify initiatives to support a shared accountability organization. Drives implementation of initiatives across the system.
May be responsible for supervising others and / or leading the work of others who support the clinical program.
- Master’s Degree. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.
- Active license to practice as an RN in Utah.
- Ten years of professional experience working in a nursing, Business Administration or operations role.
- Eight years of progressive experience in the health care system or hospital of at least 300 beds.
- Experience in a leadership role.
- Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail and scheduling applications.
- Critical Care nursing experience
- Experience and knowledge in designing, developing, implementing and managing the operations of a tele-ICU program
- Current ACLS-Provider Certification
