The Research Associate Nurse Manager's primary responsibility is to manage research department employees and resources so that studies are completed accurately, on schedule and, most importantly, that study subjects are cared for appropriately during their participation and subjects' rights are protected.
Works closely with department medical director, division chief or principal investigators to establish goals for research department, oversees and participates in study implementation to remain on target with established goals.
Supervises research department employees to insure compliance with all federal guidelines pertaining to the conduct of clinical research, as well as the WBH Research Institute policies and procedures.
Hires, supervises, evaluates performance and administers corrective action per Beaumont's policies.
Maintains current knowledge base of nursing practice.
Knowledgeable about federal regulations and good clinical practices related to clinical research.
Participates in the conduct of clinical research trials – investigator initiated and sponsored trials.
MI Registered Nurse, license. BLS certification required. National research certification (SoCRA or ACRP) required.
Two years clinical research experience in specialty area and department specific requirements to be met.
Excellent computer and database skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to execute department specific research strategic plan.
Supervisory experience highly preferred. Experience with investigator-initiated protocols highly preferred.
