Lehigh Hanson is seeking a qualified Vice President of Information Technology for its Irving, TX location. The position of Vice President of Information Technology is responsible for directing the Information Technology (IT) function for Lehigh Hanson. This encompasses setting a vision, strategy, and tactics for providing business solutions and infrastructure to enable the businesses to meet their objectives. This position works with all the entities that make up the NAM business and provides the leadership to form partnerships and governance with the Executive Committee, Corporate staff, and Region staff to identify technology opportunities and implement appropriate solutions. The position directs the Lehigh Hanson IT staff and budgets and manages the IT Shared Services organization. It also works closely with the HeidelbergCement Group to ensure global standards are implemented and met. HeidelbergCement Group employs some 57,000 people at 2,600 locations in around 40 countries. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS:
Works closely with business to standardize and centralize the Information Technology (IT) environments of both Lehigh and Hanson while ensuring HeidelbergCement Group standards and strategies are fulfilled.
Manages and directs IT staff and outside resources for projects and on-going support of IT services to the business, while balancing the overall business demand.
Hire, train, retain, and assess/evaluate all IT staff. Responsible for developing an organization with appropriate skills and knowledge to meet business requirements.
Provides IT services to the business with clear cost accountability and target setting.
Develops and manages IT strategy, plans, budget, and chargeback of IT services to business.
Identifies business systems and IT opportunities which align with business objectives and strategies.
Evaluates business processes, systems or technology changes that involve internal or external processes; striving for ways to improve competitive advantage, relationships with business partners, and productivity.
Maintains good working relationships with senior Lehigh Hanson and HeidelbergCement Group business staff as well as Region staff. Has a good understanding of the business, its products, processes, industry, customers, and people.
Maintains a current and thorough understanding of information systems, technologies and practices in order to match business needs to potential technology options.
Represents Lehigh Hanson in industry and professional organizations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. College degree in related field preferred or equivalent work experience. 2. Minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years experience managing and supervising complex businesses/departments with Information Systems responsibilities. 3. Skilled in managing personnel, including but not limited to estimating, monitoring work, problem-solving and error correction, and keeping projects on track. 4. Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills in dealing with others and expeditiously supervising others to get work done. 5. Extensive experience at planning, organizing, directing, controlling, guiding, supporting work efforts of all sizes and complexity, including making plans and estimates, maintaining multiple budgets, organizing projects and the work of others. 6. In-depth experience with aligning business requirements with IT solutions and/or prior experience working with or managing Information Systems preferred. 7. Requires detailed knowledge of technologies and processes that support business systems. 8. Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of management to assess business requirements, and to plan, manage and deliver stable, reliable and cost-effective technology solutions. 9. Good understanding of accepted operational and financial business practices. 10. Record of leadership and accomplishments in integrating and servicing large business. 11. Willingness to travel.
