Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is looking for a highly organized self-starter to serve as a Loss Control Engineer for the Corporate Risk Management department at our Carthage, Missouri headquarters.
Primary duties and responsibilities for this position include: Tour facilities to identify and develop corrective action plans for exposures which may cause injury or loss. Support the Company's efforts at all locations to comply with OSHA, both federal and state, and foster a culture of safety. Develop and administer required policies and procedures for safety and OSHA compliance. Provide and/or support all required training mandated by OSHA and Corporate safety policies and practices. Assist with and evaluate accident investigations to ensure determination of the root cause of injury, and proposal of appropriate corrective action measures. Ensure implementation of such measures. Work with vendors and insurance companies regarding protection programs, surveys, inspections and facility evaluations. Develop appropriate abatement tables and other reports pertaining to inspections and ensure correction of observed deficiencies and issues. Training assistance. Qualified candidates should have a Bachelors degree in Industrial Safety or related field or a minimum of three years experience in safety and loss control. Extensive knowledge of safety management principles and OSHA standards and requirements are a must. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be familiar with the workers compensation process, exhibit solid skills with Microsoft products and excel in written and verbal communication.
