Overall Purpose of Job:
This position reports to the Operations Support Executive Director. Oversees all site HSE, is responsible for development and implementation of policies, procedures, and methods. Shall be cognizant of the issues and challenges facing the company and coordinate the strengths, resources, and capabilities to achieve the corporation’s goals and objectives. Uses progressive work and educational experience gained at this labor grade to increase knowledge and improve expertise. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to sharing behavior. Also, has skill set to interface with client on a professional basis and resolve issues in a team approach.
Primary Job Duties/Functions:
•Oversees the implementation of all HSE department functions, including the implementation of those policies, procedures, and methods designed to drive the company HSE culture.
•Conducts HSE audits.
•Stays abreast of technologies in the industry and stays current with new regulations and trends.
•Plans and develops projects concerned with unique or controversial issues.
•Performs technical and administrative functions (i.e., planning, organizing, interpreting, coordinating, and executing group or project assignments)
•Liaise with individuals and units within or outside the department or project structures.
•Provides technical and general supervision to direct reports.
•Maintains project quality assurance records for all phases of the project.
•Provides mentoring/people development for direct reports.
•Provides overall management direction and coordination for project personnel.
•Identifies and approves HSE project plans, contractual arrangements, schedules, activities, and milestones.
•Establishes project staffing requirements and coordinates staffing with supporting business line managers.
-Works Closely with Corporate HSE on company wide HSE initiatives.
-Participates in standardization of Corporate HSE initiatives.
-Provides leadership and direction to field locations to promote a proactive HSE culture.
•Supervises and approves preparation of labor and expense budgets.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Job Requirements
Four (4) year university degree plus eleven (11) years of HSE experience or typically has fourteen (14) years of HSE or project related experience.
Previous Fluor experience preferred.
Performs all work safely and in accordance with Fluor practices and policies, actively contributes to improving safety in the work place, and if/when supervising others is responsible for their safety and the development of their safe work practices.
