Purpose of the Position:|
The Pricing Analyst reports to the Director, Worldwide Pricing, and works closely with Product Managers within the Business Units, Sales Operations, Legal and IT. The Pricing Analyst is accountable for the accuracy and completeness of the price data/information within Sybase, Inc.'s transactional systems and internal and partner facing documents.
Price List Administration:
. Manage price loads and modifications to all pricing systems.
. Develop and publish, via internal system and web, price lists for internal and external consumption.
. Resolve pricing discrepancies between published lists and price data systems.
. Gather and disseminate competitive list and average sell pricing for products via the data warehouse.
. Differentiate significant tangible and intangible aspects of product pricing to determine appropriate premium or discount off competitive offering, geographic specific revenue, etc.
. Review or develop competitive pricing analyses for new and existing products.
. Prepare and present detailed and summary analyses.
. Actively contribute to the global rationalization of pricing policies and procedures.
. Seek operational efficiency through process improvement.
. Develop processes to maximize revenues while simplifying the overall pricing model.
. Review and enhance pricing and licensing policies and processes to identify and reduce profit leakage and develop solutions to maximize profitability; assist with documentation of policies, procedures and training materials.
. Bachelor's Degree (finance/Information Technology/other business) or equivalent; 4-6 yrs relevant experience.
. Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets and other MS Office applications.
. HTML requirement and experience with Business Objects and SAP.
. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
