Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Administrative Coordinator performs a large variety of secretarial functions in a medical office. The complexity of this position in the Section of Hematology/Oncology is vast. Due to the numerous programs and special grants ongoing in the Cancer Center, the secretarial position demands a multitude of tasks and involvement with many different job classifications. The nature of the specialty itself puts an additional burden coupled with the heavy patient volume on this position. Position may require working at either campus.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.

Experience: Minimum one year experience in medical office setting.

Licensure: None required.

Skills: Must have ability to type 45 wpm. Must possess good judgment and knowledge of related operations. Must possess good interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously with patients, physicians, visitors and callers. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
