Electrical instructors needed to teach, support and assist in developing and maintaining laboratory courses and related activities emphasizing electricity, electronics, blueprint reading, PLC, electrical theory, and motor controls. Responsibilities include developing, and maintaining a comprehensive safe program; assisting students in using electrical and mechanical training equipment and related software; ensuring the readiness of facilities for class activities; teaching laboratory classes ; evaluation and reporting of students’ progress and laboratory performance; assigning and developing student projects; creating and delivering lecture demonstrations; giving class lectures and ensuring smooth and safe operation of the teaching space.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
Minimum of an associate’s degree in electrical or electronic area, journeyman's or master electrical license and at least two years of experience in electrical maintenance technician field or a bachelor’s degree and five years’ experience in the electrical field. A successful candidate must possess the ability to work effectively with others in creatively solving practical problems, be familiar with the fundamentals of electrical theory and electronics and be able to use discretion when dealing with confidential information/issues. The incumbent must have extensive on the job experience, knowledge and training along with the ability to convey that knowledge to others might also be considered.
Incumbent must enjoy teaching and be able to communicate the course content effectively to students.
