Under the direction of the physician/practitioner, prepares patients for clinical exams. Participates in related assessments, procedures and treatments, evaluations; updates patient plans of care to assure and maintain high quality patient care. Primary duties include:
Exam preparation and assessment. Gathers and reports to the practitioner information needed for the examination which includes patient history, vital signs, outcomes of treatments performed and psychosocial needs.
Performs basic level procedures and treatments that include x-rays, EKGs, venipuncture, speciman preparation.
Assists with patient scheduling and referrals for tests and exams.
Provides ongoing evaluation of all assessments, procedures and treatments during office visit and updates medical record.
Directs and oversees patient prep activities of the Clinic Office Assistant.
Maintains quality control logs and instrument testing records.
Cross trained to perform Clinic Office Assistant duties.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Required Job Qualifications include:
Current Idaho licensure as an LPN
Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider.
This LPN position could float to any of West Valley Rural Clinics
Phlebotomy certified or demonstrated proficiency.
Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.
Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 25 pounds.
